De Dietrich a brand with over 300 years of inspiration.
1684: Jean De Dietrich, son of a rich family of financiers from the east of France buys a forge.
1761: Named a Baron under Louis XV, Jean De Dietrich becomes a great industrialist, nicknamed the "King of Iron".
1778: King Louis XVI launches the first De Dietrich logo. He moulds all the iron produced by the forges with a hunting horn.
1789: To Rouget de l'Isle, Philippe-Frédéric De Dietrich, Jean's youngest son, commissions a patriotic hymn to unite the French people: the famous Marseillaise.
1806: Amélie Louise De Dietrich extends the business to include mechanical construction and railways.
1850: The first coal and wood cooker produced is Mertzwiller.
1902: The De Dietrich and Bugatti families enter into a partnership to create a sport car. De Dietrich family members then decide to concentrate their efforts on their main business, the home appliance field.
1907: Baron Eugène wound down the automobile adventure to concentrate on his core business - household appliances.
1950s: De Dietrich invented a rotating coffee grill, a first at the time for General De Gaulle to enjoy his coffee.
1955: Construction of the current factory in Vendôme.
1956: At a time when cast-iron stoves are common, De Dietrich launched the first gas cooker, the "Pervanche" model with four burners.
1960: The "Pléiade" range was launched, featuring both coal and gas fired cookers with very innovative features.
1968: Integration kitchen concept took off.
1977: The first electronic kitchen in "Experimental 8000 programme".
1982: The first multi-function pyrolytic oven on the market.
1985: The first vitro-ceramic cooking surface on the market with built-in controls.
1988: Launch of double-ovens.
1992: The first electronic-touch vitro-ceramic cooking surface on the market.
1993: The launch of "Obsidiane" renowned as being the pinnacle of the range of built-in appliances.
1994: De Dietrich celebrates selling millionth ovens.
1995: Launch of the ceramic hob with the Lotus burner, the Quickstar Plus cooking zone.
1997: Launch of complete range of Cool Door ovens and first independent steam oven.
1999: Launch of 28cm induction hob, the widest on the market!
2000: Launch of Eolyse and Pyrocontrol.
2001: Launch of HCH System, Collection 38, ICS dishwashers.
2003: Developement of ICS technology throughout the range.
2005: Launch of the Low temperature professional cooking programme.
2005:De Dietrich home appliance business is acquired by the Fagor Brandt Group.
2007: Launch of the Quattro concept dishwashers and Matricsovens.
2008: Launch of the freestanding and built-in Black line.
